Google has pulled another app out of its OS install and made it available via Google Play.
There’s certainly no shortage of clock apps in Google Play to choose from. That hasn’t stopped Google from adding its own Clock app to the pile, as part of its general move to separate out its OS apps from the OS updates themselves. That makes it simpler if you just want to experience Google’s material design clock, but it also means that more of the “Google” experience from the OS isn’t held up by carrier updates.

This is one of the things I love about Android. All the stock apps get regular updates.
