When you host a yard sale, a big chunk of your customers are probably going to be people just passing by. Hook more of them in by taking a big play out of the retail playbook. Picture: Mike Mozart
You might feel naturally inclined to place your big ticket items near your resting spot so you can keep an eye on them, but Jennifer Hunter at Apartment Therapy recommends you put them right out front:
Think about what would make you stop your car to shop a random yard sale you pass. If you saw plenty of furniture, bikes, or other great yard sale finds, you'd be much more likely to stop.
As you sell your high value items throughout the day, be sure to restock your "display" so it always looks like you've got something worth looking at. Planning and optimising your yard sale layout will help you sell more faster, so don't shrug it off.
