If you have a rug that extends under furniture, part of your rug is getting a lot more foot traffic and vacuum exposure than the rest. Extend the life of your rug by rotating it periodically.

It's a simple tip from design blog Apartment Therapy, but one that can save you from replacing a rug just because part of it gets worn faster than the rest. Rotate your rug every about six months so that it wears more evenly. You can even rotate it on the same schedule that you rotate your car tyres.
