Lawtendr Finds You A Lawyer By Asking Them To Bid On Your Case

Finding a lawyer when you need one can be tricky. Lawtendr wants to make the process a little easier. You post the issue you’d like a lawyer to handle for you, lawyers bid on the task, and you choose the one you want to work with.

Lawtendr is easy to use. Just sign up for an account, post the job you’d like to ask a lawyer to handle for you (along with the details, start and end dates, and your budget) and then wait for lawyers near you to bid on the task. The service operates in the United States, Canada, the UK and Australia. (Clearly, hiring a US lawyer to help with an Australian will isn’t going to be sensible.)

As your bids roll in, you can talk to each potential lawyer and check out their background and experience. All the lawyers on the site use fixed-fee billing. It’s free to sign up for an account and post a listing — once you select a lawyer and accept a bid, you pay a fee of 10% of the bid you accept. From there, Lawtendr takes care of billing, and even gives you the opportunity to rate your lawyer after the fact and share your experiences.

You should still research and interview lawyers to see if they’re a match for you and the issue you want them to take on, but it definitely simplifies the process of finding someone to help, and getting that research started.
