BB-8 might just be the first new breakout star from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Here’s how to make your own version of the tiny rolling Droid.
Apart from the Star Wars level of cool for this particular hack, what’s interesting is how simple and quick it was. Designer Christian Poulsen put together his hacked BB-8 using a Sphero, a foam ball and some magnets inside a single day. It does involve cutting the Sphero in half to embed magnets in it, however, so it is something of a warranty killer.
