Music can affect you in a lot of positive ways, and motivation is a huge one. Designating a house chore theme song that pumps you up can quickly turn a “I just don’t wanna” into “Let’s do this!”

Warriors marched into battle with drums and trumpets, college teams pumped themselves up with fight songs, and Jennifer Hunter at Apartment Therapy recommends psyching yourself up with a motivating theme song:
If I’m feeling truly lazy, putting on my particular song can give me the little lift I need to get going… the idea is to pick a song that’s upbeat and already has positive feelings for you and then ride the wave of motivation into the task you need to accomplish.
Of course, you may not want to listen to the same song over and over, but you should always at least to start with the same song as your call to arms. Use it to start off a motivating playlist, and use that playlist as a chore timer so you only go as long as you need to. It’s always that initial hump that holds you back from getting stuff done, so obliterate it with the power of music.
