Good news if you’re looking for a job in IT: employers are keener to hire new people in those roles than they have been for a while.

The latest assessment of hiring intentions by recruitment firm Hudson suggests that 27 per cent of employers within the IT field are looking to hire this quarter. That’s well up on the average figure of 17 per cent across all industries.

Contracting roles remain crucial in IT. 22.1 per cent of employers said they planned to hire contractors in IT this quarter — the highest in any industry sector.
