Go Over Your Medication List Before Leaving The Hospital

When doctors say you can go home from the hospital, they give you a long list of instructions, but they They may forget to advise you on what home medications you should stop taking. Before you (or a family member) leaves the hospital, go over the entire list of regular and as-needed medicines.

Kevin MD shares a list of reminders for patients and family members when they leave the hospital. If you’re taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications, chat with the discharge nurse before you leave the hospital:

During any hospitalisation, many home medications can be stopped or changed. Common examples include blood pressure and diabetes medications that will be adjusted in response to fluctuations in these parameters during illness. In addition, there will be new medications prescribed upon discharge.
