Plex, one of our favourite media centres, is now available for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Once you get the app installed on your PlayStation of choice, you can view whatever media you’re serving up from your Plex server, dig through recommendations, and access your music library. If your media library’s not in great shape, Plex does the hard work of finding movie posters and adding a synopsis for everything in your library. Like the Xbox version, the PlayStation versions require a Plex Pass account. You can grab the Plex app right now from the PlayStation Store.

Is this usable without a yearly contract? Or is it as useless as the XBONE app?

Hopefully it works better on the PS3 than it does on the Xbox 360 – compeltely borked. Works fine on the Xbone ‘though.
Is it me or does it look a bit crap on the PS4?
Looks pretty sleek on my XBONE… Looks AMAZING on my nexus player!
