Mac: Today, Lastpass launched a new Mac app for its password manager. On top of the same features you would find in the browser extensions, you also get a new quick search to quickly find logins and some keyboard shortcuts to work with.
On the surface, the Mac app is similar to the extensions, with the exception of the fact that you can now easily use the app with any variety of browsers you feel like. New in the app is Quick Look, which allows you to instantly search for passwords and other login information, as well as dig through secure notes within the app. The app also features Security Check, which gives you information about the strength of your passwords, and an offline mode to access your passwords when you don’t have an internet connection.

Am I missing something here? The link in this article takes me to a page which prompts me to download LastPass Universal Mac OS X Installer. That just installs the extension, which I already have, to all of my installed browsers.
I can not find any native Mac app. I was expecting to find a LastPass app in my applications folder.
After some research, I discovered the Lastpass App in the App Store.
The only real advantages I can see with the app over the extensions are:
1. The ability to work offline. However, because the vast majority of my entries are websites, is there any real value in being able to work offline if I can’t actually go to the websites?
2. You can work more conveniently with your entries in a 3 panel window, instead of separate tabs in a browser.
It’s a free download, so I guess it is worth getting.
Other than that, I love LastPass, and heartily recommend it.
