Learning some basic personal finance concepts at an early age can help kids make better financial decisions as they get older. But how do you teach these concepts as a parent?
We’ve covered various tools and methods for teaching kids how to budget, but everyone has different ideas about how kids should learn about these concepts. Plus, many of us struggle with the basics ourselves. This can make it hard to know how to teach those basics to someone else.
So what has worked for you? How do you help your kids understand how money works in the real world? What do you do to prepare them for a solid financial future? Tell us in the comments.

Was going to say Bitcoin, but its right in the middle of the pic.
Bitcoin is not money.
I consider myself to pretty good with my money. I’ve always been a saver and always put money aside from every pay for various things (holidays, investing, extra home loan repayments etc). When my kids are old enough I plan on introducing the Money Savvy Pig: http://www.moneysavvykids.com.au/product.asp?oid=2 Note you can find the pig elsewhere not just the website.
That pig’s awesome! Thanks for the link, I’d never seen one before.
