Build Your Own Backyard DIY Dunk Bucket

Build Your Own Backyard DIY Dunk Bucket

Building your own dunk tank is a huge endeavour, but if you want a similar backyard attraction without breaking the bank, this dunk “bucket” is easy to make, affordable, and still plenty of fun to use. Check out the video above to see it in action.

Chad Grant, who made the dunk bucket, sent the video over to us a little while back to showcase how it was done. You can see him putting the whole thing together in the video, and all of the parts required are easily available at your local hardware store. In a way, what he’s really doing is using a wastebasket to build a toilet apparatus that sits on legs over someone’s head — the flusher is attached to the throwing target, which sits off to the side, and when you hit it, it empties the contents of the bucket on to the person sitting below it.

It’s a fun little project, and probably easier to set up and disassemble than a full tank, not to mention much safer. He outlines the whole build in this PDF document, if you’re interested in trying it out for yourself for a kids’ party or neighbourhood get-together.
