‘A Tool Is Just An Opportunity With A Handle’

This quote comes to us from a recent interview on Freakonomics with Wired co-founder Kevin Kelly, and is a nice reminder that a tool doesn’t need a specific definition.

When speaking about his book, Cool Tools, Kelly describes a tool this way:

A tool is just an opportunity with a handle. It’s just a way of thinking about something differently.

However you use (or misuse) tools, make sure you’re making something new. Check out the full interview with Kelly over on Freakonomics.
