Skype Is Readying A Real-Time Translation Feature

Windows: Skype has previewed a real-time translating feature that lets you communicate directly with people in other languages.

The feature is invite-only for now, but works with spoken Spanish and English on Windows 8.1. An additional 40 languages are supported for instant message translation. Microsoft hasn’t specified a release date for a finished product, but we’d guess that there’s an intention to have at least a broader preview version ready by the time Windows 10 comes out next year.
