Simplifit Builds You A Personal Health Program, With A Virtual Coach

Android: Building better eating and fitness habits is difficult, but you don’t have to do it alone. Simplifit is a new app that will build you a manageable health and fitness plan based on your personal goals. The app also has a virtual coach to offer reminders and encouragement and track your progress.

I’ve been beta testing Simplifit for a while, and the app definitely does what it promises. Once you install it, the app asks you what your goals are — whether you want to lose weight, exercise more, gain mass, get active, whatever. From there it will walk you through some specific diet and nutrition goals to choose from. The app will help you customise your workouts and your reminders for all of your goals so you’ll get push notifications reminding you to, for example, snack on vegetables to get your recommended number of servings.

The “coach” reminders may sound annoying, but they’re really not — they’re generally good tips that bring your mind back to the goals you have, and serve as a reminder to get you moving in the right direction. You’ll get notifications reminding you that raw vegetables like snap peas or carrots make great snacks, and if you’re wondering if you’re working out right, to check out videos on YouTube or have a friend take one of you so you can review it. Periodically the app will ask you to weigh in and provide your stats so it can track your progress and give you feedback from your virtual “coach” on how you’re doing and where to adjust.

Beyond the app itself, Simplifit has a growing community of users and beta testers who can also offer their insight and help hitting your goals. All of the advice, tips and suggestions that it offers have been reviewed by doctors and fitness experts to make sure they’re legit and actually help. Plus, your program adapts to your lifestyle, rewarding you with points and levels as you work towards your goals, and offering to switch things up if they get difficult or you lag behind. If you follow along, you’ll find yourself building better habits in no time.

Simplifit is free to download and comes with a 1 month free trial to see if you like the idea and how it works. From there, if you like the app, you’ll have to pay out $10/month to subscribe. The service currently has a coupon code on its homepage (“Simplify”) you can use to get 50% off your subscription for life. Hit the link below to learn more and try it out. It’s Android-only right now, but an iOS version is promised soon.
