Throughout this week, we’ll be announcing the results across all 10 categories in the 2014 Lifehacker Awards. The next category: the always-contentious question of where to get the best fast food. And the winner is . . .
Readers’ Choice: Grill’d
Grill’d took an early lead in the voting, and stayed there throughout the week — clearly, there’s an interest in fast food that’s a little more complex (and a little more expertly prepared) than at a larger fast food chain. Second place went to Subway. Picture: Alpha
Editor’s Pick: KFC
For one reason and one reason only: the Double came back, and then came back again with a hash brown. Too much Double is barely enough.
Thanks everyone for voting! Keep checking back throughout the week for more winners.

I support this win. KFC upped the ante this year. And also my waist line.
I bought a zinger stacker combo and a double the other day without even thinking about how much chicken was involved in that.
I was not disappointed
lololol well at least you didnt have to eat for a good 24 hours after that.
Grill’d is not something close to me, so I haven’t tried it yet. KFC should always get points for the Double, just a pity it’s not a regular menu item.
My Most Improved award goes to Dominos. They have really pulled their finger out, and they even washed said finger before they made the pizzas.
The Zinger Pies are back at KFC so everyone wins
omg the Zinger Pies were delish, and cheaper than what Pie Face is now offering.
Agree with KFC. Really been digging that this year. Haven’t had many bad meals. Definitely the odd few, but you get that with the big guns in takeaway.
Had Grill’d for the first time a few weeks ago and absolutely hated it, and then had it again last week just to be sure it wasn’t just an odd bad experience – wasn’t any different. Chips were bland and what I imagine cardboard to taste like and the burgers just don’t taste like what my mind’s idea of a burger is. My local burger bar makes much better ‘gourmet’ burgers, at a more reasonable price than Grill’d does at that.
What IS the fascination with Subway?? Plastic bread filled with plastic ingredients. Bleh.
