How To Disable Facebook’s Automatic Photo Enhance Feature

Facebook just rolled out an automatic photo enhance feature on iOS that automatically enhances and filters your photos for you to make them look better. If you’re not a fan of Facebook screwing with your photos, here’s how to disable the feature.

The auto-photo enhance feature is obnoxiously enabled by default. Here’s how to turn it off.

  1. Tap the More button in the Facebook app
  2. Scroll down to Settings > Videos and Photos
  3. Disable “Enhance Automatically”

You should be good to go from there. If the “Enhance Automatically” option isn’t there, head back to your Timeline, and pretend to upload a photo. You should get the above message about “Brighter, Clearer, photos”. Back out, then head back to the Settings to disable it. The feature’s iOS only at the moment, but chances are that when it rolls out for Android the settings will be in the same place.
