FingerKey Unlocks Your Mac Using TouchID

iOS/Mac: Sick of typing in your password to unlock your Mac? FingerKey allows you to unlock your Mac using your iPhone’s TouchID.

In order to use FingerKey, you’ll need a Mac that supports BlueTooth-LE. Then, you’ll run through a quick setup process to pair your computer and Mac together.

Once that’s complete, you can launch the app (there’s a Notification Center widget to make this slightly quicker), put your finger on the TouchID, and unlock your Mac from afar. It’s not exactly quicker than typing in your password by any means, but it works as advertised. It could come in handy if you have an especially hard-to-remember password or if you need to unlock your Mac from a distance.
