We often spend an inordinate amount of time of trying to make things more efficient. This is a noble idea, but xkcd reminds us that it’s often a futile effort.
It’s an age-old cost-benefit problem, but it’s beneficial to check your methods every now and then. If you’re spending more time thinking about a problem or trying to make it more efficient than it takes to actually complete the project, then you’re doing something wrong.
