My week using only the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 kicks off today. But the phone isn’t the only gadget I’ll be testing: I’m also spending the week trying out the Gear S smartwatch.
I am genuinely unsure how I am going to find the smartwatch experience. On the one hand, I am already a habitual watch wearer, so that is not going to be a big switch. But given that I am carrying the phone with me everywhere anyway, I’m not sure what extra options the watch is going to provide. However, if 2015 is going to be the year of the smartwatch, I might as well try and get on board. At the very least, it will force me to take 10,000 steps every day.
Today starts off at Allure Media headquarters in Sydney, which will provide the unusual sight of a man using a standing desk while only operating a phone. After lunch I’m jumping on a train and heading up to Newcastle. That should give the battery a severe workout. In the meantime I have to go and hunt down some more apps for my Gear S.
