Our Lifehacker Awards 2014 nominations roll on with an always-contentious question: what was the best games console of the year?
While the two big guns have new models out there — the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 — plenty of people have stuck with the previous generation. Heck, there may still be a GX4000 enthusiast out there. Tell us who deserves to be on our shortlist in the comments.
Throughout this week, we’ll be asking for your nominations in additional categories relating to technology, organisation and productivity. Keep visiting the site every day to see when you can nominate your favourites, and make sure you’re back when voting starts on Monday 1 December.

Wii-U, the only one of this generation that releases titles that work properly upon release.
I’m looking at you Halo and Driveclub and Unity….
Wii-U for me as well. Had some killer titles and big presentations this year which point to a bright future. I have a PS4 as well which is great but there is no excitement or buzz around the newer consoles now. Technically brilliant but just not as much fun as the Wii-U this year.
right now i would say PS4 but ask me after xmas and i will probably say the Wii U.
Wii-U!!!
Laptop. Because I dont have a console since the Wii died. I’d like an xbox one but I think the coming steambox will be a better idea for me.
Ps4 but new upcoming titles can change my mind
XBone
The Wii U had the most fun:time:games:cost ratio this year
