Google’s new Inbox is the hot new email app currently in invite-only stage. Although you can get it with a friend’s help, here’s a surefire way for the rest of us to get Inbox: Send an email between 10AM and 11AM AEDT today.
Here’s the tweet from Google explaining the situation (in US time):
Want an invite TODAY? #InboxHappyHour 3-4pm PT. Send us an email at [email protected] between 3 and 4pm PT and you’ll get your invite by 5pm
— Inbox by Gmail (@inboxbygmail) November 5, 2014
Email [email protected] within that timeframe and you’ll get your invite by midday, the company promises. (Thanks Avi!)

This is awesome, because I already emailed them last week and….tumbleweeds
Will be 9am in QLD 🙂
Email sent.
It bounced.
Server overload.
Yep, same thing happened to me. :/
I got an email back straight away saying I’d get an invite. Maybe try again.
I got a mail back as well saying they would send one asap.
Yep, finally got a reply back after about 3 more attempts.
Yep.
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
[email protected]
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain google.com by aspmx.l.google.com. [2607:f8b0:400d:c04::1a].
The error that the other server returned was:

Just tried again and it worked OK!
I got a bounceback when I tried to email [email protected]…any ideas?
Just tried again and received a response saying i’d get an invite asap. 🙂
bounced back, but success on the 2nd try.
Yep, a response came through within 1-2 minutes. Said I’d get an invite as soon as possible.
it’s actually really surprising that Google’s mail server couldn’t handle the inundation of emails, even if only for a few seconds.
Got a confirmation email saying they would send an invitation as soon as possible. It’s now 1:10 PM, a bit over an hour past when they said they would have the invites out.
Google why for you make me sad?
I got my invite, only to discover it can’t be used for Google Apps users 🙁
I sent mine right at the end of the hour and it worked! Yay!
If anyone managed to snag an invite I wouldn’t mind one being sent my way. I can hear the wind blowing in response to my email to google…
