Snowball Combines Inboxes From Hangouts, WhatsApp, Facebook And More

Android: Your friends message you from different apps, like Hangouts, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or just a text. Snowball consolidates all those messages in a single floating window.

Once installed, Snowball automatically detects all the messaging apps on your smartphone. It appears as a floating chat head with a Yeti icon, and a counter that denotes the number of unread messages. All your messages are listed chronologically, with a logo next to the sender denoting the service used. Because it’s a floating window, you don’t go back-and-forth between apps and can see updates more easily.

Snowball’s settings let you choose the default app to open when you tap a message, for instances where you have two apps for the same task. You can also set up up to five shortcuts of your favourite messaging apps.

Several users on the Play Store are reporting issues if you have the Xposed framework installed, so keep that in mind before downloading. The developers have promised to fix that in an upcoming release.
