Sunburn. Ouch. You’ve probably heard all kinds of household remedies for making that toasted skin feel a little better, but how about a potato?

Illustrator Yumi Sakugawa over at WonderHowTo suggests a number of ways to relieve the sting of sunburn, ranging from aspirin to tea tree oil to just keeping yourself hydrated. But the one that surprised us was applying potato slices directly to the affected skin. You can also grate a potato and apply the pulp. Apparently, the starches in the potato help draw heat from your skin into the potato.
