Choose The Best Saw For Your Project

There are many different types of saws out there, and it can be difficult to determine the best one to use unless you've seen them all in action. This video from Do It Best gives a good overview of common types of power saws and saw blades, and the applications they are designed for.

There's never just one way — or even one right way — to get a job done. For example, a table saw and circular saw can be used to make similar cuts, but you may find you're more comfortable using one type of tool over another. Cost and flexibility of the tool might also factor in to which type of saw is right for you. The tools discussed in this video include:

  • Circular saws
  • Table saws
  • Miter saws
  • Jigsaws
  • Reciprocating saws

This is simply a starting point to learn more about what each type of saw can do, but every tool has its own safe operating procedures. Once you select the right tool, you should make sure you're comfortable with it's use and limitations before starting it up.

Selecting the Right Saw for the Job [Do It Best]

Can anyone recommend best saw for frozen fish/meat? Tried a 24tpi hacksaw (had an 18tpi spare blade but couldn't be bothered changing it yet). Was a pain in the a#$e!!! Clogs way too quick. Plus was wondering about the hygiene problems with differing metal types.
