Perhaps you’re not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a tablet, or you only need a basic gadget without all the fancy bells and whistles. Fortunately, there are many companies happy to sell you a such a device at the right price, though you might not expect one of those companies to be ALDI. Well, it is.

If you’re keen to make a trip to your local ALDI on 24 September — otherwise known as “this Wednesday”, you can pick up a 9-inch, 3G-enabled Onix tablet for $149.
The deal, spotted by Ausdroid’s Daniel Tyson, is for one day only and if you’re able to part with an extra $15, you can also grab a pack of accessories — PU leather case, earphones and various chargers — for a small discount.
In terms of specifications, it’s solid, but not astounding: A 1024 x 600 TFT display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage, with support for an microSD card, 802.11 b/g/n and of course, 3G.

A better deal is Myer running out ASUS Memo 7 for $99. Higher res screen, similar specs and ASUS not ALDI made…
I can’t find the Myer $99 deal – that was sometime back now unless its on again ? and i think the main point here is that its 3G where the memopad isnt
