Save And Reuse Gherkin Juice For Your Next Cocktail

Whenever you have a tasty jar of gherkins, don’t just pour the leftover juice down the drain. Instead, consider saving it and using it in your next mixed drink.

Gherkin or pickle juice, aka brine, is a mixture of water, salt and spice. Some of the fancier varieties may have pickled garlic, hot peppers or horseradish. It may sound weird, but these are actually the key ingredients for a perfect Bloody Mary or a dirty martini.

Taste the brine first so you know what flavours you are introducing to the mix and be sure to strain it before putting it in a mixed drink. Feel free to freeze the brine in an ice-cube tray and drop it in your cocktails for a flavour kick.
