Notific Smartly Switches Screen On And Off For App Notifications

Android (4.3+): Notific is a new lock screen app that shows your notifications in a tabbed banner message and lets you interact with each one. It also knows if the phone is in your pocket and intelligently switches the screen on or off.

Once you download the app and grant it the appropriate permissions, Notific will alert you about notifications in the form of a banner on your lock screen. Each banner has the same interactive elements that you would find in your notifications shade, similar to Notify Me. For example, with Gmail, you’ll get options to archive or reply; text messages have options to reply, read or call; screenshots have the option to share them — all directly from your lock screen.

The intelligent “Pocket Mode” uses the phone’s proximity sensor to figure out if it is in your pocket or not. Notific won’t switch the screen on if it’s in your pocket; take it out of your pocket and it will automatically switch the screen on after 10 seconds. It worked as advertised three out of four times, so that’s not bad at all.

Notific is available in free and paid versions. The features are mostly the same, but the paid one lets you blacklist certain apps from showing their updates. Only the paid version is available at the Play Store, but you are encouraged to test the trial version. Download the APK from the official thread at XDA developers forum.
