Clean Stainless Steel With Vinegar And Oil

Stainless steel appliances look amazing, but grease and fingerprints can make them look dingy. The Kitchn shows us how to get a streak-free shine with just vinegar and olive oil.

All you need is a spray bottle, a soft cloth (microfibre is best), white vinegar and olive oil:

  1. Find the direction of the grain. You’ll see it going horizontally or vertically.
  2. Spray the white vinegar on the surface liberally. Then wipe it down with your cloth going the direction of the grain.
  3. Dip the soft cloth into the olive oil — not too much — and polish your appliance going in the direction of the grain.

If you don’t have olive oil, you can use any other kind of cooking oil you have in the kitchen. You can also use dish soap to wipe down your stainless steel. Just make sure to wipe in the direction of the grain!
