Wrap Your Headphone Cables In Beads To Keep Them From Tangling

If you want to add a little personality to your headphones and keep the cables from twisting and tangling, the answer may be as close as your local craft store. All you need are some beads in a colour you wouldn’t mind wearing, and you have a ticket to snag-free headphone cords.

Reader Anya sent in this tip via Twitter, complete with the photo above. In her case, she beaded the headphones with multiple colours that suit her personal taste, but they pull double-duty and make sure the cables don’t get kinked or knotted up around one another.

If you’re not a fan of colourful beads, all black beads, all white beads or some other unobtrusive colour will get you the same effect. You may sacrifice a little flexibility when you lay the beads on like that, but your cables will never kink, never coil or knot, and most importantly, you’ll never mix them up with someone else’s or lose them.

Best of all, beads are cheap — you can add or take them off whenever you want, or change the look when you get tired of what you have. If beads aren’t for you at all, we have plenty of other ways to keep your headphone cables neatly organised.

Thanks to Anya for sending in the tip!
