WakeUp Unlocks Your Android Phone When You Pick It Up

Android: There are lots of ways to unlock your phone, but many are fiddly. WakeUp unlocks your handset when you pick it up and hold it at the right angle.

We’ve looked at various methods that you can use to unlock your phone, but they require you to interact with your handset using some form of gesture. To keep things as simple as possible, WakeUp wakes up your phone when you tilt it towards you — no need to even hit the power or home button.

Download the free app from Google Play, fire it up and hit the Activate Device Administrator button. Tap Activate followed by Start Automatically Monitoring. Test out the app by hitting Lock Screen Now, or just hit the power button to switch off the screen.

Pick up your phone and gradually tilt it towards you. When the phone reaches a certain angle, the screen will switch on and your phone is ready to use. As an added bonus, the screen will also power off when you lay your handset horizontally.

Your phone will not unlock unless it is angled correctly, so it is unlikely to unlock of its own accord in a pocket or bag. If you need to adjust the sensitivity level, head to the Configuration section of the apps and change the Tilt Sensitivity setting.
