It’s good to have a solid set of survival skills, but you can’t be expected to remember everything. The Art of Manliness put together a collection of books for your Kindle that will help you survive virtually any scenario.
The Kindle is ideal for a survival toolkit: you can pack it full of knowledge without taking up space, it has a long battery life, and it’s durable. (Obviously you’d also want a solar charger of some kind as well for long-term use). Which books you deem necessary is up to you, but head over to The Art of Manliness for a huge selection of survival books worthy of your Kindle’s library.

It’s probably best to use an e-ink reader rather than the kindle fire they have pictured. The fire is heavier and you’ll be lucky to get 8 hours of use out of it (less, if it’s been sitting in your bug-out bag for a while when you go to use it).
Something like a kindle paperwhite sacrifices colour pictures, but it’s lighter, still lets you read in all light conditions, and you can go months between charges.
Interesting read. I just found out that there is a website called Clippings.io for organizing all of the highlights for managing the Kindle notes and highlights you make on your Kindle. Best of all it’s free, hope you enjoy.
