CHrome: If you’d like Facebook Messenger notifications when you aren’t looking at Facebook, you can get chat head-style notifications with the faces.im Chrome extension.
Once you have the extension installed, just sign into Facebook and the app will open in a separate window, like a separate messenger. Closing the separate window still keeps you logged in, and when someone messages you, you’ll see a chat bubble similar to ones found in the Facebook mobile apps. That way, you don’t have to switch tabs or windows to see all of your incoming Facebook messages.
