Scuff Potatoes With A Fork For Perfect Roasts

Scuff Potatoes With A Fork For Perfect Roasts

The next time you’re roasting potatoes, make sure you scuff them up with a fork first. This will help to really crisp them up, says The One Pot Chef.

Of course, you will first need to peel them and slice them up. The site recommends cutting them into halves or quarters of the same size so they cook evenly. When that’s done, grab that fork!

Use a fork and scuff up the outside of the potato on all sides. You don’t need to gouge them too much or make any big holes or anything, just make the surface “not smooth”.

As a final tip before you start roasting, sprinkle a little salt on them. Apart from flavour, this helps dry out the surface of the potato. Watch the video to see it all in action.
