Magneto Is A Smart, Google Now-Like Calendar (And We Have Invites)

iOS/Web: How many occasions have you left perfectly on-time for something, only to be unfairly deemed a latecomer because of a traffic pileup? Enter Magneto, the Swiss army knife of calendars.

Like other calendar apps, Magneto connects to your existing Google or Exchange calendars and keeps you abreast of what’s coming up. However, it also connects to other internet services to make itself smarter. One of its major features is live traffic updates: Magneto will notify you to leave early if there is an unexpected traffic jam on your route to the next event scheduled in your calendar.

In case you can’t leave early, you can use Magneto to send messages notifying the other parties that you’ll be late. Best of all: you can do this with one swipe, which means you won’t feel the need to text and drive.

Magneto also makes meeting arrangements much easier by using a method similar to Doodle. Instead of using long back-and-forth email threads to discuss each other’s availability, you can show other parties a snapshot of their calendar. The other parties (who don’t have to be Magneto users) can then select a few of their available timeslots, which you can pick from to confirm.

With the Magneto web browser extension, you can add events or meetings to your calendar with a couple of clicks.

Magneto is still in private beta, but we’ve obtained 2000 invites for our readers. To gain access to the beta, click the link below to get instant access. After the first 2000 readers, it will redirect you to the main page where you can request an invite normally.
