Todoist is one of our favourite to-do list apps, but one thing it doesn't have is location-based notifications. Thankfully, they're easy to add -- all you need is an automation app such as Llama, and Todoist's mobile app for Android.
Richard sent this tip in to us. After giving it a try, I can say it works like a charm. All you have to do is create specific categories in Todoist for the locations you want to be notified for, then tell Llama to use "Enter Area" as its action condition, and "Run Application" along with a notification (either a sound or a vibration) alert.
In Richard's case, he has all of his location-based notifications in one category and has Llama trained to go to that category whenever he enters one of the areas where he might want to know about something on his list. If you prefer Tasker or another automation app, it will work the same way.
Richard also explains that you can have as many tracked areas, categories and to-do lists as you like. You can tell Llama to track multiple locations, and use each discrete location as a trigger to launch Todoist. You could even set a notification to check your list before you leave work for the day. The only thing you can't do -- even if you have different lists in Todoist for different locations -- is tell Todoist to open to a different list based on your location. Still, this setup does the important thing, which is remind you to look at your to-do list when you get to a place that has an item on it for that location. Hit the link below to read more.
