Use Leftover Juicer Pulp To Make Broth Or Vegetable Crackers

If you use a juicer, you end up with lots of leftover pulp from the fruits and vegetables you’ve been juicing. This video from CHOW shows you how to use those leftovers, instead of tossing them in the trash or on the compost heap.

The first trick is to repurpose the pulp as a vegetable broth. Just toss in one part pulp with two parts water and dried herbs, and boil in a large pot. Simmer for 30-45 minutes and then strain through a cheesecloth. That gives you a vegetable broth that won’t require you to buy and chop up a lot of fresh vegetables. You can play around with the ratios and the vegetables to get the flavours you’re looking for.

The video also shows you a recipe for turning that pulp into edible, smooth vegetable crackers. Both methods are great ways to make good use of something that would otherwise be thrown out. Hit the video above (or the link below) for more.
