Use Baby Powder To Prevent Sweat Stains From Ruining Your Shirts

Stop Sweat Stains from Ruining Your Shirts with a Little Baby Powder

You know what's better than knowing how to get rid of stubborn underarm stains? Keeping those horrid yellow stains away in the first place. Real Simple tells us we can use baby powder as a stain guard for our clothing.

Sprinkle a little on the shirt's underarms and collar, then iron to prevent sweat stains on white shirts. The powder forms a barrier that keeps oil and grime from seeping into the threads.

Unfortunately, it looks like you'll have to repeat this after washing the shirt, but if you're going to iron it anyway, keep some baby powder on hand. As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Wouldnt this just be the same effect as if you had put it under your arms? which people have been doing for years, as it is grat at absorbing moisture. Would save the effort of having to iron it on every shirt, as you would just put it on after a shower.

It's not really the sweat that causes the stains, it's the sweat working in combination with your anti-perspirant/deodorant. I changed to using one of those big alum crystals instead and no longer get stains on shirts (apart from down my front - I'm a messy eater). Yes, it won't stop you sweating, but in hot weather neither does anti-perspirant after the first few hours.

Or you could beat your body so that it cries when you even think about sweating…
