Patch Tuesday: It’s A Microsoft/Oracle/Adobe Three-Way

The first Patch Tuesday of 2014 is set to be even more painful than normal. Not only do we have Microsoft’s usual second-Tuesday-of-the-month updates to look forward to in the next 24 hours, there are also big updates on the way from Oracle and Adobe.

Naked Security has a handy rundown of the proposed updates, though as usual full details won’t be apparent until the code hits. Microsoft only has four updates planned, some of which only apply to Windows XP, which no-one should be using. That said, all the updates require a reboot. Sigh.

Adobe is updating Acrobat and Reader, while Oracle is pushing out a massive set of fixes for 144 vulnerabilities. And yes, that means Java needs updating yet again.
