Get Large Thumbnails Back In Windows 8’s Explorer

Windows: With Windows 8, the handy thumbnail slider that we all knew and loved disappeared. Now, there are only up-front buttons for small thumbnails and detailed lists. The How-To Geek shows us the way to get large thumbnails back.

There are actually a few ways to find the larger thumbnails (or any of the six other alternate views that are now hidden). The first is under the View tab in Explorer’s ribbon. However, you can also switch views with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-Shift-[1-8], where each number corresponds to a different view, starting with extra large thumbnails at 1 and moving downward.
