Center New Dialogs in Windows with AHK

Moon shares a tip for using AutoHotkey to make new dialog boxes appear centered on screen:

I came up with an AHK script that puts an end to one of those little annoyances that add up over time. When I open a Windows system-related panel, such as the one for drive properties, I can never tell where Windows will open it and Windows doesn’t usually remember its previous position. My script forces these elements to open at the centre of the screen.

Download Multiple Dropbox Files at Once to Android

Cass Lopez shares a great way to download multiple files at once from Dropbox to your Android device:

I wanted to grab 167 files from my Dropbox and put them on my Android phone.

Dropbox offers one option — file by file export. Yes, one at a time. Not good. I started browsing the Play Store looking for some help and after a minute or two searching idly I came across Folder Downloader For Dropbox. Fast, free, and does its job.

Get Shipping Discounts By Purchasing Gift Cards

Amos shares a tip about hitting the free shipping discount minimum on some sites:

Many shopping web sites have a minimum purchase required to get free shipping. If you’re just not buying enough to qualify, consider buying gift cards to make up the difference. This assumes it’s a place you’ll want to shop again.

This trick doesn’t work at Amazon, unfortunately, since they don’t add gift cards to your shopping cart, but many other places do.

I often do it at ThinkGeek or Squishable.
