When Choosing Paint, Don’t Forget To Consider The Finish

Picking the right colour for a room can be a time-consuming process, but that’s not even the end of the story. Choosing the ideal finish is equally important.

As the folks over at Yahoo! suggest, the finish of a paint has quite an impact on how your room will ultimately look:

A paint’s finish can have a dramatic effect on the final look and feel of the room. Finishes range from flat to matte to high gloss so when purchasing paint, be sure to ask the pros what kind of finish the paint has, and how that will affect the overall look. The decision will make a difference.

You’ll be able to see the finish of the current paint on your current walls, so use that as an indication. If you like it, stick with it when buying new paint. If you don’t, consider something else. If you’re really not sure, you can always test out a few options and compare before doing the whole paint job.
