Facebook Begins Testing Auto-Playing Video Ads

The rumours were true: today Facebook announced it has begun a test where a small number of users will see auto-playing video ads in their News Feed.

The ads will begin playing automatically as you scroll past them, similarly to how user-uploaded videos work right now. They won’t play sound, fortunately, unless you tap on them specifically. According to Facebook, if you don’t want to watch the video ad, “simply keep scrolling and the video will stop playing”.
