Windows Azure Storage Services Are Having Problems

So this is not what you want from a cloud provider. Microsoft is suffering performance issues with Azure’s storage service.

The exact extent of the outage isn’t clear. The error message pictured above suggests a global outage affecting all eight Azure data centres, but this has intermittently been replaced with a different earlier message suggesting only North Central US is affected. Microsoft has also been suffering DNS issues on some sites and services, including the Xbox site and Outlook.com. For quite some time Azure’s own service status page wasn’t working:

It’s very nasty timing for Microsoft; the Xbox One is launching globally, and it relies heavily on Azure for many of its features. No cloud service promises 100 per cent uptime, but to have an issue in every centre does not look good.
