Keep Adaptors Attached To Their Cable With Sugru

Keep Adaptors Attached To Their Cable With Sugru

Cable adaptors are great, but they’re also so darn small and easy to lose. Here’s a neat hack to keep them together: all you need is some Sugru, that magical material for DIY miracles.

Sugru user mdbraber took his old Magsafe 1 cable and attached a Magsafe 2 adaptor on it with some Sugru. Just make sure you attach it a point where your power connecter can be coiled back to fit into the adaptor without straining the wire too much.

This way my girlfriend and I can both use the same charging cable around the house and the adaptor doesn’t get lost. Also the USB ports on my MacBook Air can still be used.

While the hack is fantastic for the Magsafe cables, its real potential lies in Sugru-ing a lightning-to-microUSB adaptor onto a microUSB cable, so that one cable serves your Apple devices as well as most other gadgets.

The Sugru blog has a few other cool Apple hacks that can make your life easier.
