Like its Xbox One rival, there are few things about the PlayStation 4 that we’d describe as truly revolutionary. But sometimes, it’s the little things that make all the difference. Here’s one time-saving tidbit about the PS4’s interface that has piqued our curiosity more than faster frame rates.
Our colleagues at Kotaku recently got to check out the PS4’s new user interface — you can read nine interesting facts about the next-gen UI here. As you’d expect, Sony has introduced various little software tweaks to make its mew system stand out from its predecessor.
Here’s one new interface trick that we think will make life infinitely easier for gamers the world over:
Multitasking is super-easy. If you double-tap the PlayStation button on the DualShock 4, you’ll swap between your last two applications. So if you play a game, then pause to look at your friends list, it’s easy to switch back to where you left off. No saving required!
Pretty neat, huh? We’ll be getting up close and personal with the PS4 ourselves later in the week where I’ll be taking a closer look at the system’s home entertainment features. Watch this space!

Pretty awesome what the new console let us do. I still remember a time when I would have to frantically rush to find a save point just to exit the game.
Although that’s still true for MMOs.
Oh look! Consoles can finally do something PCs have been able to do for almost 20 years!
