FitBolt Keeps You Healthy At Your Desk With Fitness Reminders And Tips

Web/Chrome/Firefox/Windows: No matter how many times we hear that sitting all day is killing us, during a hectic workday, it’s hard to remember to take the breaks we need. FitBolt is a smart browser add-on and desktop app that not only reminds you to take micro-breaks but also tells you what to do during them.

Every 30 minutes (or your customisable frequency), FitBolt will pop up a reminder and also offer a quick exercise or a simple stretch. These notification types are included in the free app, but you can also subscribe to the premium plan ($3 a month) to add posture/ergonomics, wellness, nutrition and other health reminders. The reminders vary depending on the time of day, your preferences and other factors. So, for example, FitBolt will remind you to have a snack (and suggest a handful of nuts, perhaps) when you might need it most.

FitBolt also tracks your activity in a dashboard and can be linked to other tracking tools: Fitbit, RunKeeper and Dailymile. The desktop app runs on the Pokki platform for Windows, FYI.

While there are several other reminder apps, this one’s great because it combines reminders with health and exercise tips and information.
