Tying a knot in a plastic shopping bag makes sure the contents won’t fall it, but if the knot is too tight it can seem impossible to open the bag without tearing it. Reader Dean shares a simple technique for getting the knot undone.
The picture tells the story: twisting the top of the bag makes it much easier to undo the knot. Much better to do this than to tear the bag and render it unfit for reuse.
Residents of South Australia and the ACT (which have bag restrictions in place) can feel smug at this point. Thanks Dean!
