The Best Way To Wrap A Sandwich So It Doesn’t Get Crushed

Carefully packing your lunch isn’t exactly rocket science. But if you often find yourself peering into your lunch bag to see the sandwich you crafted that morning is now a mess, this tutorial from Food52 will show you the way.

All you need is a a sheet of baking paper that’s twice as long as it is wide (and larger than your sandwich, of course). Fold a tent over your sandwich, then fold the paper over itself over and over until you’ve folded the wax paper down flat against the top of the sandwich. Fold the sides into arrowhead shapes, then fold each one up under the sandwich. That’s all there is to it.

If you want the whole thing to hold together after you pick it up, a little tape on the bottom to hold the flaps down will do the trick, or you can put the now beautifully wrapped sandwich into a baggie with some veggies (without worrying it will get soggy). If you’re making multiples, just label them by writing on the wax paper.

For extra protection, toss the whole package into a plastic container with the rest of your lunch.

If you’re making a sandwich for someone else, this is definitely a nicer gift to unwrap come lunchtime. After all, we eat with our eyes first, right? Hit the link below for the step-by-step guide.
