Prioritise Momentum Over Minutiae To Stay Productive

It’s going to bug you all day when that one little detail isn’t quite perfect. If you want to get things done, though, let it bug you.

As tips blog Dumb Little Man points out, a completionist mindset will often get more done than a perfectionist (the perfect being the enemy of the good, after all). The problem is that we so often base decisions around the final product that we forget momentum is what gets us there in the first place:

Every time we stop to assess our work, it slows down our progress. (ESPECIALLY for the perfectionist). It’s honestly not that necessary to keep assessing your work, once a week at most is all that’s needed.

While a once-a-week rule may not apply to everything across the board, if you’re readjusting your priorities, or spending an inordinate amount of time on a particular task, it may be time to abandon it.
